A brief introduction to Cami Confidential by Yvonne Gillon
I have been a couture designer for 25 years and have come into contact with many customers suffering from breast cancer. One particular lady was the inspiration for Cami Confidential, I was designing an outfit for her daughter's wedding when she told me of her dilemma - She had just had the mastectomy so she was feeling quite vulnerable. She had been asked to a special dinner, her worry was when she leant forward others would see her scar. She had searched the shops but everything was either too low, too wide, too baggy.
So from this I designed the Cami Confidential, which is a lightweight stretch lace, double fabric top, which fits over a bra.
It is different to other tops because it hugs the chest and won't fall away when you bend forward. It is also cut close to the armhole and softly elasticated for comfort and I have been told by my band of breast cancer friends that this is also a great advantage as most bras or vests are too low under the arm.
Lyn tried out my design – she said it was amazing. It is very feminine with the scalloped neckline, didn’t move during wear, and gave her the confidence she needed – It took the stress out of shopping.
At the moment we do two versions of Cami Confidential –
The cropped one which fits well under any outer garment but doesn’t interfere with the line.
The longer version which has a cropped under layer to hug the bust with a longer over layer to past the waist – could be worn as an outer garment, looks good under tops, t-shirts, cardigans and jackets.
Cami Confidential was designed out of necessity, to create confidence and feminity.
It gives a good shape over the bra.
Great addition to any wardrobe, in fact it’s a wardrobe essential for all women!
